WORKSHOP: Beginners Acro Yoga w/Carrie Brassley

Acro yoga uses many of the same principles of a regular yoga class, but the poses are practiced by two (or more) people. In this workshop, we will play, make shapes and balance on each other as we guide each other into poses. We will explore moving in tune with other people, sometimes non verbally, to create connection and further ground ourselves in our yoga practice. 

Come along if you fancy trying acro yoga in a friendly and supportive environment. Whether you turn up by yourself, with a partner, or a few friends, give it a go and just have some fun.

We will start with some strengthening and mobility warm ups before moving into some partner exercises, counterbalancing our weight and gaining trust in one another. Then we will start working in groups of 2 and 3 to create some understanding of how we can support another person comfortably and safely. You will learn some key language to help you to communicate with your base or flyer and then bring all this together to learn some core acro yoga poses, such as bird, and starting to flow from one to another!

You will need to have a basic level of fitness (maybe you've done a bit of yoga/pilates/gym). If you are working with an injury, you are welcome to get in touch with Carrie to see if there will be any problems in attending. Simply email Elevate Studio.

No need to bring a partner as we will work in small groups.
